Children’s Dentistry
Campsie Family Dental is an all-ages clinic. We welcome every member of your family, including children. Our team loves seeing young children come into the practice, learning healthy habits. When you begin your child’s dental care early in life, you won’t have to worry about them developing a fear of the dentist.
Easing Your Child Into Their Dental Visits
Our rule of thumb is that on the first day your child visits us, we won’t do anything invasive. Whether they’re there for a checkup, filling or another service, we will make it fun for them. We want it to feel like playtime during their first session with us. We’ll get information about their medical and dental history from you. If we locate any potential problems, we’ll discuss our short-term and long-term goals to manage the issues.
Being Patient With Our Paediatric Patients
Children deserve to be children. We don’t expect them to behave like adults when they attend their dental visits. Our entire team wants to make them feel comfortable with us. We’ll get to know them, talk about their likes and dislikes and take our time with them. We understand that a child can find it difficult to hold their mouth open for a longer period. We’ll work patiently with them and never rush them.
Bring Your Kids to Your Dental Checkups
We recommend that you bring your kids in for a checkup around age 6, which is when they start losing their first teeth. You can even bring them in with you to your dental checkups. That way, they can meet our team and become familiar with our clinic environment. If they accompany you, we’ll even give them a quick, no-charge checkup. They’ll receive stickers and positive reinforcement about visiting the dentist.
