Dentures
If you have one or missing teeth you know how frustrating it is to not be able to eat what you want. You also may feel too self-conscious to smile. At Campsie Family Dental, we provide natural-looking and lost-lasting dentures to help restore your smile.
An Economical & Nonsurgical Smile-Restoring Solution
While dental implants and bridges are other options to consider, dentures remain one of the most affordable ways to replace missing teeth and restore their function. Another benefit of getting dentures is no surgery is required. Many people don’t like the idea of having surgery so dentures are an ideal solution for them.
What to Expect
The first step is to book in for a consultation with Dr James Song (Dentist) who will discuss the following with you:
- Different tooth replacement options and their price points
- How long each treatment will take
- What steps will be required with each
We believe in giving patients all the information they need so they can make the decision that’s best for them.
If you decide to get dentures James will let you know approximately how long it will take and the price. As he wants to ensure that your denture is perfectly crafted 4-5 sessions will be needed. The process of getting dentures involves taking impressions and sending those to our local lab, where your appliance will be made.
Then we will have you come in for a few more appointments so James can adjust your denture and ensure it fits you properly and you feel comfortable wearing it.
Like Getting a New Pair of Shoes
We often tell patients that just as it takes some time to get used to a new pair of shoes, it will take some time to adjust to your new dentures. After a few weeks, you should be used to wearing them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will my dentures last?
If taken care of properly, your dentures should last for 5-10 years.
Can you repair dentures when necessary?
Yes, many times we can repair the denture to accommodate any changes to your body. We also can let you know when we think it’s time for you to get a new denture.
How do I care for my dentures?
Whether you have partial or full dentures, you should remove them at night when you go to sleep, so that saliva can “wash” over your gums to maintain a healthy mouth. You also should remove and rinse your dentures after eating, brush your dentures twice a day and soak your dentures overnight. Always be sure to handle your dentures carefully.
